Hello, I’m Kaitlin Hoover, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in California. I’m so glad you’re here!
You may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, stuck in old patterns, or simply exhausted from carrying so much on your own. Maybe life has started to feel heavy in ways that are hard to explain, or you’ve lost touch with the version of yourself you want to be. Wherever you find yourself in your healing journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I specialize in working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, adult men who are exploring identity, relationships, life transitions, and emotional well-being, neurodivergent teens and adults, individuals healing from trauma and PTSD, and clients navigating grief and loss.
I practice from a holistic, trauma-informed approach that honors each person’s unique experiences and identity. Our sessions will feel collaborative, creative, and sometimes even a little silly! Together, we’ll explore unhelpful patterns, regulate your nervous system, reconnect you back with your body, build upon your strengths, and cultivate a life that feels authentic, connected, and meaningful.
My approach is client-centered and grounded in evidence based practices including Somatic Experiencing, Trauma-Informed Stabilization Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I am currently in training for EMDR. When helpful, I also incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and mediation to empower a firmer sense of self, increase emotional regulation, and deepen a mind-body connection.
Before joining Theraperspectives Counseling, I gained valuable clinical experience at an intensive outpatient program where I provided Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for individuals struggling with PTSD, mood disorders, and treatment-resistant depression. With this experience I am also equipped to provide couples counseling, case management, and skills coaching.
When I am not in session I enjoy learning new recipes, dancing at music festivals, reading dystopian horror books, getting humbled in Pilates classes, and spending time taking mindfulness walks!
